A Large Louis XVI Carved GiltWood 18th Century French Mirror

A large and impressive carved giltwood Louis XVI period mirror from the late 18th century. The inner frame profusely decorated with ropetwist, stop flutes and egg and dart. The outer edge of the frame beaded. The pediment an array of decoration, the central cartouche of a ribbon tied wreath flanked on either side with Cornucopia spilling out floral and foliate carving across the entire top of the frame with the wreath and berries descending over the shoulders and down the edges. Retaining its original glass plate with very little to none foxing. The back (imaged) with panelled inset back board and clear carved markings to back of frame. A period piece with warm worn patina, soft gold gilt and in incredibly good condition for its age.
