A Large Louis XVI Breche Marble Fireplace

A large and highly variegated Breche de Saint Maximin marble fireplace from the very late 18th century. Rich in colours of purple, creams, white, gold and deep reds. The console jambs stop fluted with carved Patarae end blocks. The freize with conforming stop fluted carving running across. Deep match booked side returns, all beneath a generous shaped and moulded shelf.
Unusual marble, incredibly colourful and very well carved.
