Antique Georgian Neoclassical Fireplace Mantel in Statuary White Marble
A late 18th century exquisitely carved George III chimneypiece executed in Statuary white marble. The central tablet carved with a Greek medallion, with bow tied ribbon and scrolled acanthus. Flanked by panels of stop flutes with end blocks of carved oval Patarae. The jambs with conforming tapered fluted semi engaged columns surmounted by intricately carved Corinthian capitals. All beneath a breakfront stepped and moulded shelf.
