An unusual George III style chimneypiece executed in 6 different English marbles.

The pilaster jambs of Derbyshire fossil marble with Ashburton marble panels to front and foot blocks. Purbeck marble corner blocks inlaid with Blue John marble. The central tablet Cotham landscape marble bordered with Blue John stringing. Flanked on either side again by Ashburton. All beneath a Derbyshire fossil marble shelf and under moulding. A very smart and well drawn piece reclaimed from a country home in Devon England
