A fine antique early 19th century Regency period fireplace executed in Statuary white marble. The fielded panel jambs, carved within of laurel, torchieres and tied ribbon bows. The corner blockings with carved fruit and foliate cascading from a vase with scrolled acanthus supports. The frieze of running carved oak, laurel and acanthus leaf in arabesque, with reeded under mouldings. Simple reeded shelf above. Separate foot and corner blocks, A good example with charming proportions.
