An English Antique Regency Period Carrara Marble Fireplace
An English Regency period “bullseye” fireplace carved in “Old English” Carrara marble. This term was used as this particular vein of Carrara marble was heavily used in the late 18th/early 19th centuries. The jambs with cushion moulded panels, stood on square foot blockings and terminating in carved roundel ” Bullseye” corner blocks. The conforming frieze in cushion moulding. All beneath a simple shelf.
