An Antique French Empire Statuary White Marble and Ormolu Fireplace

An early 19th century Empire period Statuary white marble with ormolu mounted fireplace. Very fine quality marble and ormolu, with demi lune shaped shelf, frieze and jambs. The frieze with beaded ormolu panel, laurel leaf adornment to centre and conforming laurel leaf mounted end blocks. The flute jambs with leaf adornments and edged foot blocks again in ormolu.
Superior quality Italian Statuary white marble, with a wonderfully curved demi lune shape. Retaining its orginal depth of shelf and side returns.
