A large 18th century Louis XVI period fireplace, executed in pale and wonderfully veined Calacatta marble. The elegant slim jambs with carved ribbon twist fronts within fluted panels. The bow fronted frieze with running carved Guilloche with carved rosesttes within. End blocks of carved Patarae. All beneath a generous bow fronted shelf. Superior quality Calacatta marble being used to give such a definitive contrast between the pale back ground and variegated veining.
