A large Antique Louis XV French Rococo Carved Marble Fireplace

A very good quality late 18th c Louis XV marble fireplace. Executed in Italian Carrara marble, with superior carvings in the Rococo taste. The serpentine shelf above a panelled frieze with A symmetrical carved central cartouche typical of the Rococo period of carved shell, foliate, flowers and scrolled acanthus leaf. The cantered jambs with scrolled stiff acanthus at the foot with descending bell drops, more carved acanthus and deeply scrolled with under shell corner blockings. Both Jambs and Frieze stoned backed.
