A large Antique French Louis XVI Fireplace In Breche Violette Marble
A large late 18th century Louis XVI period fireplace executed in superior quality and very fine Breche Violette marble, with much variation of colour and depth from purple to green. Finely carved corner blocks of square Patarae surmount console cantered jambs with fluted decoration. The bow fronted frieze of running flutes, beneath a very generous and incredibly variated bow fronted mantel. The side returns paneled and all stood on foot blockings.
