Antique English Regency Period Marble Fireplace Mantel


An early 19th century Regency period fireplace in “old English” Carrara marble. The jambs with rounded cushion mouldings and moulded front panels, supported on separate foot blocks. The roundel carved corner blocks flanking a conforming moulded frieze. All beneath a generous mantle. A very good example of a classical English late 18th-early 19th century fireplace. The pale marble with pencil veining typically used in the period usually called “Old English”
