19th Century Bronze Bust from Thiebaut Freres Paris Foundry
A life-size bronze bust of a bearded gentleman wearing dress attire and a fur lined coat. Adorned with The Legion D’Honneur Medal. Raised on an integral plinth, with artist signature Henriette Descat and Foundry mark Thiebaut Freres Fondeurs. One of the most important foundries in France, their list of accomplishments is significant, namely The Triumph of the Republic by Jules Dalou. A family run business from 1789 in Paris at Rue du Ponceau French, 19th century.
