£11,500 + VAT

A large Regency period Irish Kilkenny marble antique fireplace from the early 19th century. A good example of this type of Irish fireplace usually referred to as “The Dublin Corbel” as it was typically used in Dublin Ireland during that period. The moulded pilaster jambs, stood on shaped foot blocks, inverted inner slips and surmounted by deeply carved brackets supporting the mantle. The Frieze with reeded moulding and a carved Lozenge fielded centre tablet. All beneath a generous shaped and moulded shelf. One of a near pair removed from the same property in Dublin Ireland. The last two images are of the other surround available, which can be sold separately or as a near pair. Ideal for adjoining rooms. Circa 1830
