An Antique French Columned Fireplace Mantel in Breche Marble

A large antique French fireplace in the neoclassical manner. Executed in quality Breche Marble. The jambs with Alabaster columns, supported on large square foot blocks with Ionic capitals, surmounted by square fielded corner blocks. The panelled frieze with plain fielded tablet to the centre. Moulded inner slips surround the opening and all beneath a generous stepped and moulded shelf. A rare fireplace in superior quality Breche marble and unusual Alabaster columns. Mid 19th century.
