An Italian Murano glass chandelier by Barovier e Toso using the Pulegoso glass method. 14 leaves circle a large dish with 6 light fittings inside, The short stem and ceiling rose making this light ideal for a lower ceiling. Rewired and the original timber structure (enabling to date this light) re painted.
Pulegoso glass meaning “bubble” is produced by adding Gasoline or other substances to the melt. The bubbles makes the glass semi opaque and give the surface and irregular finish. Pulegoso was devolped by Napoleone Martinuzzi (1892-1977) on the Island of Murano, Italy.
