A Louis XVI period late 18th century fireplace in Breche d’Alep marble with Ormolu enrichments and cast iron interior panel. The frieze with beaded decoration, acanthus leaf and moulded trim witch conforms with the foot block mounts. The Jambs having fluted mouldings with Ormolu husks within. A deep and generous mantel above with small step moulding. The decorative arched interior panel with foliate and diamond castings. A very good example of a period piece in a rich and variegated marble.
