Bespoke wood flooring and fire surrounds
Here we have some images of a recent installation in an early 19th century town house
The ground floor has been fitted with bespoke distressed wood flooring; double smoked and tumbled to create the reclaimed wood effect that is so sought after.
We needed two fireplaces, both to complement the grey wall colour, so chose a pencil vein Carrara marble – also known as ‘Old English’ – which works beautifully and also looks great with the existing furniture.
The first surround in the sitting room is early 19th century and has simple jambs with a long running frieze decorated with three carved roundels, and a plain shelf.
The second, fitted in the master bedroom, is late Regency with push button roundels on the corner blocks, and panelled jambs.
Similar enough to create a pleasing concinnity to both rooms, the subtle differences in these two elegant surrounds still adds an individuality to each space.
The hob grates and French fire dogs in the surrounds are supplied by Marmorea.
