Customer Project in West London
We are delighted to present a beautiful Georgian townhouse where the flooring, fire surround, lighting, art, chairs and table have all been supplied and installed by Marmorea.
It seems fitting to begin with the fine Italian surround in rare Portoro marble with Statuary white carvings.
This is an incredibly unusual fireplace with wonderfully carved Caryatid serving as jambs – Caryatid meaning ‘maidens of Karyai’, an ancient town of Penopolese – and was sold before ever making its way to our showroom.
Portoro marble has a natural elegance and the surround – flanked by the arched mirrors and beneath a piece of contemporary Jack English photography taken from his ‘LA street art’ collection – creates the perfect centrepiece.
The 1960’s armchairs reupholstered in a geometric pattern were supplied by our sister company, Circa, and are attributed to Saporiti – an Italian company distinguished by Avant-garde designs – as was the simple but very effective table in chrome and brass by French aristocrat Jean Charles.
The lighting needed to make a statement but also be subtle so the banana leaf chandelier from our Murano collection provided that perfect balance.
Lastly, the bespoke flooring throughout the lower and ground floors was tailored in Holland to match the colours of the existing decor and complements perfectly the diverse mixture of styles we love so much at Marmorea.
Again, the end result is another fine example of how combinations of period and contemporary pieces can work so well.
